little Brooklyn

No. That is not the name of our future child. Believe me, I have tried to sneak it in our baby names list with my husband. He's not having it.

I was thinking of all the places I like to bring my kid in Brooklyn and below are some of them. If you know of some other wonderful things to do with the little ones, leave a comment.

Little Brooklyn for little ones and the little ones at heart:

(Has an area designated just for children 5 and under (Totally Tots). Very hands-on exhibits. You can bring your own food saving you tons of money.)

(Went here for the first time three months ago. Can sit in old buses and trains.
See how the engine works and play with buttons.)

(Great outdoor space overlooking Manhattan for just strolling or taking a break and enjoying the beautiful view. Has playground, dog run, summer movies, etc.  After that take a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge.)

(This carousel is also located in Brooklyn Bridge Park, but since it's so spectacular it deserves its own link. Carousel housed in a glass pavilion overlooking Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. How awesome is that?! Begging my husband to take me here before I can't walk anymore. Or I can ride it and my husband can watch the baby. LOL. Update: Check out my post 3 year wedding anniversary for pictures.

(Went here when I was in junior high school. Long time ago. Small, but located on Coney Island boardwalk. When you're done with the fish, head over to the amusement park or the beach.)

(Lots of small rides for the kids. Tends to get crowded.)

(Also in Coney Island. I personally just love sitting on the ferris wheel and look at the view of the ocean and boardwalk at night.)

(Yes, it says Ikea. There is a wonderful play area for the kids while you shop. When you're done you can take a walk in the park by the waterfront. They also have free events like free tour of the Statue of Liberty if you're an Ikea family member. Membership is free.)

(Great for walk, strolling with carriage, or biking. Has playground, baseball field, garden. Right by the water with view of Verrazano - Narrows bridge and lower Manhattan. Lots of things always going on. The shuttle, Enterprise, passed by here...once on top of a plane and another on a barge. Lots of cruise ships and sailboats.)

Brooklyn Botanical Garden

(Not too big, but just enough to enjoy nature and the company you're with.)

NYC Public parks and pools

If you can't go to any of these places, take the kid to the local Brooklyn park or public swimming pool. Free and fun!
